BC Results: Canadian Junior Table Tennis Championships 2023

The 2023 Canadian Junior Table Tennis Championships were held July 10 to 14 in Drummondville, Quebec, and as expected the competition was intense in singles, doubles and team events. The BC Junior Team brought home a pile of medals along with big first-place wins in Girls U19 and Girls U13. Congratulations to the players, coaches, admin staff, parents and all who cheered on the BC Team.

BCTTA’s Challenge Series

We’re delighted to announce a new program to help BCTTA members gain competitive experience and ranking points, and have a whole lot of fun in the process. It’s a series of fun $10 drop-in tournaments each season at Bridgeport Sport Club. We are calling this new event, “The BCTTA Challenge Series”. The first season’s series will run from September 24 to December 10.

Fall and Winter BCTTA Junior Training Program

BCTTA will keep the group training spots for the above ages if he/she has been selected for the BC Junior Team in the year 2023 or before. All new players must do a tryout test prior to being accepted into the group. BCTTA will focus on physical and technical training to improve all players to be nominated to participate in the National selection tournaments and be selected on the National Junior and senior teams to present Team Canada in the international events.

Calling all BC table tennis players 55 years and over for the 55+ BC Games in Abbotsford from August 22-26, 2023. This is a great opportunity to meet and compete with senior players from around the province. The 55+ BC Games are an important part of the BC sport system and the largest annual multi-sport event in the province for those 55 and older.

Vancouver’s First Dedicated Outdoor Table Tennis Court

The proposed Windermere Table Tennis Court moved a big step forward towards becoming a reality on May 2 with a $45,000 grant from Health Minister Adrian Dix. Vancouver’s first and only dedicated outdoor table tennis court is the brainchild of Windermere PE department head Brad White, a tennis, squash and table tennis enthusiast and teacher behind the newly constructed Windermere Community Fitness Park (WCFP). Construction will begin soon, and the table tennis court will open sometime this summer.
