The Canada Winter Games from PEI

Table Tennis Coverage

The BC Junior Table Tennis Team squad has spent months preparing for the Canada Winter Games. It started with intensive training, which included competitions, and culminated ultimately with a team selection where two boys and two girls we sent off to PEI represent the province. The girl’s team consists of Sofia Li and Louise Fan, while the boys team consists of David Mandelstam and Zonggang Li. They are accompanied by team manager Ivy Liao and coaches Andre Ho and Zoia Novikova. We are looking forward to watching our BC table tennis athletes compete live at the games through the Canada Winter Games viewing portal. Here Canadians can watch live events representing all of the various sports over the course of the two weeks of competition.

To watch table tennis starting today, February 19th, click on the button below this article to visit the CWG “Watch Live” page for table tennis. Scroll down to view the dates. Click on any day to toggle the matches scheduled to be covered for that day. Sit back and cheer on our BC team!

Table Tennis Technical Package

Technical Packages are a critical part of the Canada Games. They guide the selection of athletes by prescribing the age and eligibility requirements, assist the Host Society by detailing competition formats and scoring procedures, assist Provincial/Territorial (P/T) Chefs de Mission in verifying eligibility, help with budgeting by describing the number of participants permitted, advance coach certification by stating minimum requirements, and generally contribute to athlete development by identifying each National Sport Organization’s (NSO) version of athletes in the “Train to Compete” phase of its Long Term Development (LTD) model, or other suitable phase of LTD as justified by the NSO.

Congratulations....

Big congrats to Mr. Anson Lam, who was the TTCAN year of 2023 Volunteer recipient.

Anson has been involved as a volunteer in the sport of table tennis since he was at high school and until the present. He is a role model for the younger generation who has a great passion and enthusiasm in our sport and contributing a lot in helping others.

Well done and keep it up.
